Chandler Mtn. Pulls Out

Due to consistent low turnout at Chandler Mountain (average around 40 riders) we will not be allowed to return to this track for the 2007 season. This was a feared response from the low numbers, but expected none the less.

We have had numerous conversations about this on the forums here, in person with various riders, and with various track owners. Business is business and at the end of the day a motocross track must make a profit. We at SEQuads harbor no hard feelings toward the ownership at Chandler Mountain and we ask that you, the riders, do the same. Sammy and crew worked hard at each and every race to provide us with a great facility on which to race. We are grateful for that.

This is a sign of what is to come in response to low rider turnout. If this series is to continue in the coming years, obviously our numbers must increase. We all realize that. Now, we are asking you how we can increase the numbers. This series, more than any other series on the planet, is designed specifically for the rider. For that reason, the rider should know how we can increase the numbers. Please share any ideas you may have.

im not trying to be an a$$ but me and another guy was talking about the  # sitution here's his words i cant disagree "they have their higher numbers in northern alabama yet they fail to come up here often they'd rather stay more local to b'ham but it seems like the bigger numbers were warrior, and cloverdale i dont know the facts but i was at these races and i know their were fairly decent crowds" my opinion is go were you already seen the numbers at..

Sorry to hear we lost it, but there were hardly any people there so I get it.  I don't know where all the quad guys are on race weekends, but maybe this will get the 'sense of urgency' out and get people at the tracks instead of on their XBox's!!

To quadrunner's comment: our last Cloverdale race had a low turnout. Our Warrior race was big because we specifically advertised and promoted that event heavily as a unique event. I wish we could advertise each event that way, but we don't have the budget or manpower to pull it off. If you guys want to pay $100 for a yearly membership or something like that, then we may have a budget. 90% of the people that come to one race in the series know about the other events, they just make the decision not to come on a regular basis, for whatever reason.

I'm not a regular at the SE Quads races simply because of the amount of races on the schedule, it's just too much with all of the competing National series.

For 2007 I would suggest working around the WPSA schedule being that the GNC's are going to become a thing of the past and lower the amount of races.

Just two cents from an outsider

Ha, ha! Jorge may have a tainted view about the GNC's. ;-)

Tell your WPSA buddies that we would've definitely scheduled around their races if they had gotten off of their booties and had their schedule done earlier. We'll definitely schedule around them this year, though. The WPSA is doing great and doing great things for the sport.

Jorge, stop in more often.

I'm looking forward to attending the 2007 SE series, we might actually branch the team out to include an SE only squad made up of some south eastern riders who can't afford to travel a national series. We've got a couple of previous Media Allstars who have expressed an interest.
